What is Vibes?
Vibes is an iPhone app that gives your Apple Music a radio host. You pick a Vibe, a DJ character with its own taste and voice, and it plays your music, tells you the story behind the songs and learns what you like. It is free to start.
Does Apple Music have a DJ?
Not for your own music, as of October 2026. Apple Music has live radio shows with human hosts, AutoMix to blend one song into the next, and Siri to answer questions about an artist. Vibes adds the missing piece: a DJ that plays your own library and playlists and talks between the songs.
Do I need Apple Music?
Yes. Vibes plays music through your Apple Music subscription and has no music of its own. If you don't subscribe yet, Vibes shows you Apple's own sign up, with whatever free trial Apple offers.
I use Spotify. Can I use Vibes?
Vibes works with Apple Music only. Apple has a tool that copies your playlists across from other services, so you can bring your music with you.
Is Vibes an AI DJ?
Yes. Each break is written fresh for the song you are hearing, from facts about the record, and spoken in a natural voice. It doesn't repeat itself.
Will it talk over my music?
It's built not to. A Vibe talks up an intro and stops before the singing, or speaks in the gap between songs. Most breaks are under ten seconds.
How much does it cost?
Vibes is free to start, with Block Party and Late Night, all your music and a weekly allowance of hosted hours. Vibes Plus hosts every hour and adds The Nerd and the premium Vibes.
When can I get it?
Vibes is in testing now. Places in the test go to the waitlist first, then everyone gets it at launch.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. Vibes starts on iPhone. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you when that changes.
